The Hidden Cost of Running IT Projects Without Help Or How To Run A Project at 197% of Budget in 245% of Target Timeline

I came across this information in a recent article at baselinemag.com and thought the statistics were worth sharing. This information is based upon an article by Ericka Chickowski compiled from a survey of 100+ organizations that had completed IT development projects with budgets of approximately $3 million. Before you dismiss this as not in the realm of ‘small business’ – and therefore not applicable – after a few decades involved with IT initiatives in the small biz realm, I am confident that while our projects have a few less zeros in their budgets, if a similar survey were conducted with the smaller firms, the numbers presented here would hold true.
